Which version is better for your system? PC or PS4 Pro?
Hello everyone,
I've been considering whether to get Assassins Creed Odyssey... My PC's capabilities: 1070 Ti, 8700k @ 5ghz, 16gb DDR4 3000mhz, 500gb NVMe SSD. With these specs, I'm wondering if it's better to opt for an AC Odyssey for my PC or go with the PS4 Pro.
On my PS4 Pro side, I'd have a 4K TV with HDR and a proper sound system. For my PC, I'd enjoy 1440p with GSync, superior graphics, and a higher frame rate overall. My main concern is whether my GPU can handle the game's upper settings.
I'm not sure yet... Any thoughts?
I know I could just connect my PC to the TV, but that would be inconvenient moving it around as I work a lot.
I transferred all my Assassins Creed titles to PC and discovered a fresh appreciation for them at 60fps.
I don’t dislike them at 30, but they really shine at 60.
Additionally, playing them gives you a 20% discount on your next UPlay purchase, and there are occasional sales if you wait long enough.
The standout is that Origins and Odyssey fully support dualshock 4, which I personally favor over the Xbox controllers.
For a PC, it should work well at medium to high settings. I used a 970 with a 7700k on a 1440p display without Gsync, achieving about 40 FPS on medium.
I moved from using this on Xbox One X to PC, and it feels significantly smoother at 60fps. You’ll likely be able to play it in a range from medium to high settings at 60fps or above, which would be much better than what the Pro version offers.
Adjusting the cloud settings to a medium level is expected to release a significant amount of GPU resources. The visuals don't appear as highly three-dimensional, but the performance gain in frame rate is substantial compared to other effects you'll encounter frequently. I also reduced the fog intensity, which I think doesn't greatly impact performance, though it can sometimes make visibility difficult at higher settings, so I feel the game runs smoother that way.
Setting anti-aliasing to low or medium seems intentionally aimed at boosting performance over the default. Even if most people wouldn't choose off unless targeting 4K, I did opt for it.
