Just used the existing setup and added 2x16. That’s what I did. 48GB running at 2400mhz. I didn’t test the speeds on the older model before buying new, so I went with whatever I thought the 8th gen supported (2666). Honestly, pulling out the old 2x8 and getting 32GB at that speed wouldn’t make a big difference either way.
