I'm trying to figure out which PSU I already own should be used...
I'm setting up a new 'daily driver' PC for general home office tasks—no gaming, no encoding software, etc.
It seems likely I'll be using an i5-13600k with a mid-range Z790 board and an existing 1050 Ti processor. The expected power draw should be around 500 watts.

From past builds, I own two Seasonic PSUs: a Focus GX-650 80+ Gold and a Prime PX-850 80+ Platinum. Both are three years old (still in good shape) with 10-year and 12-year warranties. They've been used very lightly and are in near-new condition.

My instinct is that the 650-watt model would be the most efficient option. The 850 seems excessive for my needs, and I'm not sure if the higher efficiency of gold over platinum makes up for it?
Appreciate any advice from the community!

Generally, I concur with you regarding the 650. But according to my intuition, there are significant issues with the Z490 and 13600K.

Thank you for highlighting the mistake.... The correct code is Z790 (not Z490!!)

I’m choosing the 650 watt PSU right away. I ended up picking the 13500 because BestBuy was offering it for $210... this is cheaper than Microcenter’s 13400 and even lower than the 13600K.
