current setup includes core2quad q8400 2.66ghz running at 3ghz (+150mv offset)
lga 775 motherboard
g41 chipset – asus p5g41t mlx
two 4gb dual channel ddr3 modules at 1333mhz
cpu cooler gammaxx 300
three 12cm fan cases
1 ssd drive

Can I choose another version, such as the 650w s12g model? If it's from Seasonic, then yes. It's a strong device but uses an older design.

You don't have to use a 650W PSU for this project. A 500W quality unit will suffice just fine. However, if you aim to install nearly any GPU, a 650W will cover most options.

That SeaSonic at $60 is a great offer.
