I just discovered this card from a donated laptop. One of the antenna ports (number 1) is partially damaged—only a pin remains, and there’s no ring around it. If I purchase an adapter with antennas, will it still function? Thanks for your patience.

It isn't assured to function properly even after using the adapter due to the faulty component, which could lead you to waste money on an unusable device. I suggest opting for a budget USB 3.0 WiFi adapter and testing it first. My current model works significantly better than the built-in one on my motherboard.
