I'm considering a custom loop for my PC and it seems really good, but I want to know if it's worth the investment or if an all-in-one water cooler would be better. I'm planning to overclock a lot and my budget is $1800, so if I skip the custom loop, I should be careful.

Usually, a good air cooler performs just as well as an AIO liquid cooler. For custom setups, well-executed loops can improve cooling slightly, but in my opinion, they mainly add appearance and bragging rights. The idea of spending twice as much on liquid cooling to save just 3°C isn’t worth it.
