I wouldn't be too concerned unless it's solely for watching videos. Just avoid porn to help avoid catching some harmful viruses.

Windows XP offers the quickest and most fluid experience among operating systems. It runs impressively on older hardware, delivering performance close to what you'd expect from a modern processor like an i7 today. I previously owned an older machine before purchasing this one. It features an Intel D425K processor with an Atom D425 chipset, 1GB of RAM, and performs smoothly in Windows 7. Even for AAA games from 2000 to 2006, it handled them well. While Windows 10 generally boosts speed compared to Windows 7, it still works nicely with 32-bit versions of both OS.

I’d love to have a Windows 7 copy since I really liked using it.

Get a distribution (typically an .ISO file) and employ Rufus to generate a bootable USB drive from it. Instruct the computer to start from the USB and install on the main hard drive. Ubuntu or Linux Mint are popular choices for beginners. If your goal is simply a media player and web browser, the process is straightforward and many tutorials are available on YouTube.

The main issue with XP is that it compromises the security of the whole network, not just the individual device. A fragile connection point is a serious concern. If it were completely isolated and never connected, it should be safe.

That's it, just for streaming content and downloading movies when I'm on the go.
