I received it as a birthday gift and, despite purchasing the suggested sound card, I wasn't satisfied with the audio quality or directional sound. They're quite large, looking impressive on paper, but they didn't live up to expectations in practice.

I haven't used them myself, yet I find it hard to picture how a dedicated driver surround headphones could match the quality or soundstage of stereo options. Besides, I believe many games nowadays offer headphone-specific sound settings, suggesting they're experimenting with HRTF mixing or at least providing an improvement over standard stereo.

What are some excellent earbuds that aren't necessarily gaming-focused? They should be great for music, videos, and overall sound quality, with good build and price being important.

Quality wired earbuds usually perform better and last longer, especially when they come with replaceable tips and cables. You get what you pay for—but generally, anything over $200 starts to feel pricey. For electronics, there are many reviews from specialized sources. If you're curious, reading a few can be helpful.
