Usually Asus feels a bit too expensive compared to its features, yet I’d choose Asus more than Gigabyte about 90% of the time.

You'd likely face no issues with either option, I think. I share @Crunchy Dragon's view—ASUS boards have become a bit too expensive lately. I've switched to Gigabyte for my recent builds. The move from ASUS to Gigabyte came when I needed to pick between an ASUS Maximus XI Hero and a Gigabyte Aorus Master. There was almost a $150 price gap... The Gigabyte model is considered higher-end, while the cheaper one is actually more affordable than the ASUS version.
