I recently purchased an MSI motherboard, but Amazon declined it because it was out of stock. I discovered a comparable model but it costs more. I intend to install my i5-12600k and an RX 580. Could someone compare the two options? Since I have limited experience, which one would be better?

Choose the AsRock B660M Pro RS Intel B660 Series CPU (LGA1700) for your AsRock B660M Pro RS MicroATX motherboard. Find it at the best price in KSA via Souq, now Amazon.sa.

They're both really bad choices. Most H610 boards are best avoided because they don't provide enough power for anything beyond a 12400F. If you're stuck, just pick randomly—you might end up spending more than needed for a better board. That alternative is still not much better.

I can't afford it right now, but I plan to upgrade the motherboard later.

This suggestion seems solid. The MSI B660M-A offers great value with its budget-friendly features, while the MSI PRO B660M-A provides a more robust build for those needing extra performance. Both come with modern specs like DDR4, Wi-Fi 6, and solid connectivity options. You can purchase them online at the best prices in KSA through platforms like Souq, now Amazon.sa.

You're stuck between a 12600k board or your i5-4460. What I found online suggests it won't significantly improve performance unless you upgrade the cooling system.

Why not just opt for a 12400f and that board? This isn't what it looks like. As @RONOTHAN## demonstrated in the SS, the Cinebench score fluctuates a lot and the VRM temps are inconsistent. It would be better to choose a more reliable motherboard and accept a slightly lower CPU performance instead of having a powerful CPU with a subpar board.

It doesn<|pad|> to work the way you expect won't happen. Expecting power throttling isn't the same as thermal throttling—any cooling solution from a standard cooler to a custom loop won't bridge the gap to the 12600k. You'd need to handle motherboard cooling yourself, and even then it wouldn't push performance to the desired level. You'd likely end up with no noticeable improvement over choosing a cheaper 12400F.

I'm thinking about upgrading to a better motherboard later. For now, I'll use this good one while my old one and CPU are selling. Eventually, I'll get a better one.

now in the meantime while i use the h610m, will anything bad happen to the other components, like will my cpu get fried or something?
