No notable differences in features between x670 and x670 boards compared to B650. The only distinction would be if the x670 board was made before the 9000 BIOS release.
The company covers all costs, and I’m responsible for assembling the PC. We frequently use AutoCAD and handle large projects, so you know what I need. I’d like to give him a machine with solid specifications now, ready for upgrades later. From what I understand, a 670 model is more affordable than the 670E. I don’t require a top-tier motherboard, but I want to utilize those PCIe lanes for high-performance NVMe storage. That’s why I’m considering a more advanced motherboard.
You really just want to know which components are important for the motherboard. A decent B650 model can handle many NVMe drives, but a more affordable B650(E) will usually suffice.
Current motherboard options include models that support up to 1.5" M.2 and 2 x 4" M.2 drives while keeping under $200. Choosing one like the Asrock B650 PG offers similar storage capacity and USB ports without sacrificing performance. The Aorus Elite AX provides built-in WiFi but costs around $210, whereas the PG delivers comparable features at a lower price point.
I'll stick with the B650 as requested. I'll review the specs afterward. That PCIe 4.0 part is fine for me.

In reality, PCI-E 5.0 isn't necessary and SSD speeds won't significantly impact performance.
