Which model would you suggest?
Hello everyone.
I’m planning to purchase an RX 9070 and both options are priced the same at $600.
1) ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9070 OC Edition
2) Gigabyte RX 9070 Gaming OC
I’m trying to compare these two but only have access to Gigabyte’s listings. Without seeing detailed specs, I’m unsure which has more filters, capacitors, or DRAM phases. Which one should I choose?
I’d really appreciate any advice on this. I want something reliable for the future, including overclocking, and I’m concerned about stable power delivery.
Thanks in advance!
Perhaps these will be of assistance;
1)
ASUS Prime Radeon RX 9070 OC Edition
I presume it'll be a step down from the TUF;

The TUF IMHO is on par with the Gaming range of hardware from Gigabyte. Prime's being the entry level branding/naming/nomenclature.
2)
Gigabyte RX 9070 Gaming OC

Honestly, they're all the same GPU chip and will perform about the same. You're advised to undervolt your GPU as well to get the most out of it.
Gigabyte typically offers stronger cooling solutions and a more robust VRM layout. Without ASUS's PCB verification, I would favor Gigabyte for improved overclocking potential and a more stable power supply.
When using a GIGABYTE mobo, overclocking your graphics card isn't recommended if you opt for the 9070 gaming OC. GCC will automatically reset the OC settings to the default in AMD software upon startup, regardless of any OC parameters configured in GCC and AMD software. This can limit the effectiveness of GPU overclocking.
In China, the Powercolor 9070 red devil matches the price of Gigabyte gaming oc. I purchased Gaming OC and Red Devil for testing. The Red Devil reached 10 degrees higher GPU temperature (70°C) compared to Gaming OC (60°C) during a benchmark test, yet its fan speed was only 750 RPM, resulting in very low noise. After manually adjusting the fan speed, it outperformed Gaming OC.
Thanks to all the responses, I've decided to go with the Gigabyte Gaming OC version.
