Which model is best for you: QuestionCV550, CV650 or CoolerMaster MWE 600 Bronze V2?
Hello everyone, I'm ready now but my PC stopped working about 1.5 weeks ago and I need a PSU. I have three choices as mentioned in the title, and here are the prices:
CV550 - 61€
CV650 - 69€
CoolerMaster MWE 600 Bronze V2 - 65€
Which one should I pick? Also, my PC specifications are:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2
CPU: i5-750 2.67GHz (overclocked to 3.8GHz)
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Windforce OC, not overclocked
RAM: 4+4GB Corsair 1333MHz (OC'ed to 1480MHz) and 2+2GB 1333MHz Corsair again, totaling 4 sticks
SSD: Samsung 860 Pro 500GB
HDD: WD Green 500GB
I've looked at their tier lists too – CooleMaster is on B, CV550 on D, and CV650 on C. Thanks!
Of those the CoolerMaster V2 is what I would go with. If you cannot get that then the CV650 is the next "best." Don't touch the CV550.
If you can afford a bit more this is a good choice and best of the bunch.

Sadly, what you proposed is far beyond my budget. In Greece, the prices are 101€ for the 650 and 85€ for the 550, but it's still too expensive. However, I can definitely get the V2 with free shipping, and I expect to receive it in two days, just like with the CV550/650. I’ll wait to hear your thoughts and see what others say on other forums before deciding, thanks. 😀
I noticed the photos of the V2 product showing the code MPE-ACABW, which indicates it's in tier C with low priority units. I thought it was MPE-ACAAB (tier B) but that's the 650W model priced at 85€, which is disappointing. I believe the next best option would be the CV650. A fellow forum member recommended the Smart BM2 650W and later the P650B—what are your thoughts?
Although this post dates from 2020, the details remain useful. The poster, jonnyguru, is the Director of PSUs at Corsair and has largely overlooked much about PSUs compared to what most people are aware of.
Savings on the power supply. Works only with 230v mains. The Corsair CV650 offers a complete range input, superior quality, and a better fan. I would suggest it even though Cooler Master has a newer LLC platform.
It refers to an inexpensive item that was significantly reduced in price, cutting back on the voltage options to cut costs. Many of these power supplies may struggle during small voltage fluctuations. It's uncommon to find a genuine quality PSU that operates strictly at 230V.
Gotcha, guys, thanks for the assistance
Order confirmed, the CV650 is en route!
