Which is better For Rendering Intel or AMD
Hi, edward. I'm setting up a PC for my architecture projects and have some specs in mind. You're considering Intel I7 10700K, MSI Z490 Gaming plus Corsair 32GB RAM, RTX 2060 or Quadro P2200. On the AMD side, you have an Ryzen 7 3700X with a Gigabyte X570 board and RAM. Your main tasks are 3ds Max with VRAY and Blender.
Would it be better to wait for the newer Zen 3 processors? Also, what other configurations might suit your workload better? Right now I'm using an I7 3770 with GTX 960 and 16GB RAM. Let me know your thoughts!
A solid b550 paired with a 3900x would definitely handle the 10700k. Still, AMD's offerings generally offer more cores and threads for better performance.
Ryzen tends to excel in rendering tasks, with the 3700X matching closely to the 10700K in core performance. Power consumption will be much lower and easier to manage, making e-Die Ballistix a worthwhile upgrade—pricing could align with Vengeance LXP. As noted, the B550 offers strong value compared to similar X570 models at a reduced cost. This setup would support higher-end options like the 3900X or Zen 3.
