Which is better for a new motherboard or VRM cooling?
I own an AMD FX-8350 CPU that I've overclocked to 4.4 GHz. Recently, I experienced significant drops in frame rates during gaming and noticed my system was running much slower than expected. Even though the BIOS is set to 4.4 GHz, it's throttling down to around 1.4 GHz. From other forums, it seems this issue affects many users with the 8350 and MSI 970 motherboard configuration. There are also reports that VRM overheating might be contributing to the problem. In short, should I consider replacing my motherboard or look for a better way to manage the VRMs?
The board features a solid thermal configuration with a 6+2 power phase layout, making it suitable for the 8350. The 212 unit provides adequate cooling, maintaining temperatures at or below 62°C. CPU performance is stable, with idle temps around 20°C and loads not exceeding 55°C.
