If I had to order my top Halo titles, Combat Evolved would come first since it’s the original and most polished by Bungie. Halo 3 follows closely, offering noticeable improvements in design and a flawless experience on legendary. Teaming up with Thel 'Vadam (Arbiter) and the flood was enjoyable, though the narrative falls short compared to CE. If the story had been stronger, it might have surpassed Combat Evolved.

Halo 2 stands out with its engaging level design and memorable story, especially the character dynamics and the iconic Halo Theme. It’s praised for its storytelling and the standout guitar riffs, making it a standout experience. The remastered cutscenes feel cinematic and immersive.

Halo Reach is noted for its art style and memorable characters, though it’s shorter than the others. It borrows elements from Halo 3 and offers a solid expansion with a great soundtrack and atmosphere.

Halo 3’s ODST campaign is praised for its visuals and memorable cast, featuring standout level design in Mombasa Streets. The soundtrack complements the overall vibe.

Halo 4 is considered the least enjoyable, with issues in character writing and pacing that detract from the experience. Despite its flaws, it still holds some value for completionists and offers a nostalgic look at Chief and Cortana’s relationship.

I began with Halo Combat Evolved on the original Xbox and appreciated it. It wasn’t a story-driven game, but it was enjoyable overall. Switching to ODST on Xbox 360 was a great experience; I really liked the environment and atmosphere. Reaching was my next Halo title, and I enjoyed those characters. I purchased a Series S in November and started playing Halo 5 Guardians right away. It’s a stunning game, and I’m enjoying the narrative so far. I haven’t completed it yet, but changing the story between teams is a fun idea.
