Which game should we play?
Which game should we play?
You're facing a tough choice with several options. I've heard mixed things about each one—ARK has some optimization issues but a newer 1070 might help, Assassin's Creed also had problems, Scrap Mechanic is a quirky indie gem, and Far Cry Primal feels fresh but could be quite different. Any insights or personal experiences would be really helpful. Thanks!
I've spent more than 400 hours in Ark. It's a solid game if you're into that vibe. Also, it's a fun multiplayer experience.
I enjoy games focused on constructing bases or surviving in challenging environments, though I'm concerned they might resemble a Rust-based dinosaur simulation.
I haven't played Rust, but it seems similar to some other games. Training and guiding dinosaurs is definitely a standout and enjoyable aspect of the game. The new PvP features are entertaining, though I believe you might want to consider purchasing them separately if you don’t get the alpha version.
They also mention that the process can be very slow, sometimes lasting around five hours or even longer.
At first, doing it alone can be quite slow—about five hours might seem too long. Most players finish in under an hour on lower levels, but higher-level dinosaurs take much longer. Once you gain experience and have a strong tribe, kibbles become available which significantly cut down the time needed. Still, it remains a time-consuming process overall.
The main issue with Ark is that it hasn't been released yet. I'm not really concerned about beta testing or having fun with something incomplete. My concern is about pre-ordering or early access. I don't think it's a wise move and I try to steer clear of supporting it. Even if the game turns out well, I believe it will still be solid once finished. I can wait.
For online multiplayer, try Overwatch. There are many characters to study and improve upon, and competitive play lets you climb ranks. It’s worth connecting with others since solo queuing can be frustrating. Avoid Ark if you dislike rough or unfinished gameplay. Early access titles often resemble each other, so steer clear of them. Assassins Creed and Far Cry offer solid single-player adventures with engaging endings. Pick a game that matches your preferred style—hardcore shooter, survival mode, or open-world exploration. Each offers a unique experience, so choose based on what you enjoy most.
