I just purchased ac oddysey and can't even play the game smoothly at 50fps with low settings on a core i5 8400 and a vega 56. I was thinking about buying metro exodus now, but I'm worried about its performance on oddyssey. Would you think metro would run better than ac oddysey?

The game heavily relies on the CPU because it's a demanding open world title. My setup includes an i5 9600k and a 1070 FTW2, which is slower than a 56 and usually runs at 60-70 FPS with ultra 1080p. Even at the lowest settings, maintaining at least 31 FPS feels unrealistic. It might be related to drivers, as keeping it under 50 FPS seems suspicious.

Sorry, it seems I got the numbers a bit wrong. You mentioned the game runs around 60-70, but once you're in a city it drops to the 40s. Are you experiencing the same thing?

Without RTX ray tracing Metro is. At 4k I run in the 60s with ACO. At 4k I run Metro in the 90s. In the 100s indoors. With 4k ray tracing I am in the 40s with Metro and in the 50s indoors.

It might drop to the 40s since there are many logic and models to load. That would be typical for an i5 8400, and I see about a 10 FPS increase in towns.
