Hello everyone, I'm exploring options for opening a supermarket or cash-and-carry store in Pakistan. I'm interested in what kind of computer would work well for a cash counter—primarily scanning items and generating bills. I expect around 4 to 5 stations and would need a server to display item lists so cash counters can access the necessary information. This is mostly for enthusiasts, but I thought it might be helpful to ask. Thanks in advance!

Focus more on the right tools rather than the computer itself. None of the professional business programs place heavy demands on a PC. https://fixthephoto.com/best-cash-regist...tware.html Perhaps alternatives like this could work? https://www.nextar.com/feature/cash-register

Prioritize a high-quality LCD display with a touch interface since staff will interact via the touch screen. Most computers suffice, but if barcode scanners are involved, consider a motherboard equipped with serial ports or headers (COM) for potential mounting options. Currently, USB connectivity is likely standard, making this less critical. Given your location in Pakistan, aim for a processor like i3/i5 4th generation to support Windows 7 or 10.

Requires minimal energy usage. Checking for an HP Elite Desk nearby could be a solid beginning. They're also easy to find on second-hand platforms.

A budget-friendly machine works if it runs a supported Windows version with ongoing updates (optional but wise for safety).
