I recently purchased an MSI B550-A PRO motherboard with an AM4 chipset. I'm searching for a compatible CPU and have ordered Patriot Viper Steel, DDR4, 16 GB, 3600MHz RAM. I'm evaluating the Ryzen 5 5600 (or 5600X) and the Ryzen 7 5700X. The main distinction is the extra cores and threads on the 7 5700X, but I'm curious if that really impacts gaming performance. In my region, the price gap between these options is around $50, and I aim to build a reliable system lasting 3-4 years. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

Get the 5600 for gaming. The 5700x offers nothing extra valuable compared to it. Spare your money.

You might want to consider the X model. Some say you can always improve it using OC, especially since the frequency difference is only about 12.5%.

They're correct; the minor frequency adjustment is essentially the same. I'd appreciate it for the slight improvement, though it won't change performance significantly.
