New gaming version at 2700x priced $159.99, compare with 3600x for $169.00 or wait longer for a 3700x at $300. The processor will match an RTX 2070 and a Gigabyte X470 Aourus Ultra Gaming.

Do you require these additional two cores (four threads) for a 2700x display? Will you be using the system for purposes other than gaming? Are there any professional tasks that could benefit from them? If not and your main use is gaming, then 3600 would be an excellent option.

It's mainly designed for gaming and home entertainment. I was taken aback by how affordable the 2700x is. Besides aiming to stay ahead, I think the 3700x doesn't justify the additional cost.

Focus on the 3600 and 3700X for better gaming performance. The extra boost from higher numbers isn’t significant enough unless you’re planning future upgrades. Prioritize a solid motherboard to allow future CPU improvements.
