I upgraded my motherboard to run DDR3 with 4 gigabytes, using dual-channel configuration at 2x2 gigabytes. I’m considering switching to 16 gigabytes of RAM but the specifications only list support up to 8 gigabytes. My question is: should I go with a 2x4 gigabyte setup or opt for a single channel but higher capacity? Thank you for your assistance!

A 4x4GB storage would improve speed if the device can handle it. Alternatively, stick with 2x4GB and skip single-channel usage.

I made a mistake with the size—it should be 2x4GB. Running dual channel would help improve performance.

It's better to use dual channel. Think of it as using two hoses instead of one. Dual channel can boost performance by up to 20% in games and is usually more affordable than single channel, making it a win-win situation.
