Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I recently switched to a 3Gbps plan and installed an ORBI mesh Wi-Fi system to boost speeds throughout the house. Currently, my network only has one channel, which is shared by my parents for work, causing lag during gaming. Would dividing it into a 2.5GHz and 5GHz band improve performance? Thanks ahead!

Prioritizing QOS or similar settings on your PC or application could be more effective.

Hello! Your setup could really benefit from it since you have a mesh system with various connections across all nodes. If you're near the router, 5GHZ will perform better; otherwise, 2.4GHZ is your best bet and try to join the least crowded network. You should be able to set up two separate networks—one for 2.4GHZ Wi-Fi and another for 5GHZ Wi-Fi. Using Ethernet when possible can also help, and setting speed limits for other devices might improve overall performance.
