Considering your setup, the Asus RT-AX89X might be a better fit. You're managing a large space with many devices and users, so performance and AI mesh capabilities become important. The GT-AX11000 is great, but the reviews suggest mixed opinions on its handling of heavy usage and multi-device setups. Your experience with the Asus GT-AC5300 gives you confidence in their AI Mesh features, and the Fios Gigabit plan via FTTP should support your needs. Let me know if you'd like a deeper comparison!

They aren't suitable for routers. For mesh Wi-Fi, consider a top-tier Netgear or Orbi setup. Pair them with a MOCA adapter for strong, reliable coverage throughout your home.

I don’t suggest using Asus routers because I only consider switching the ecosystem if the advantages are truly exceptional.

I used to own one about two years ago, but it stopped working after roughly two years of use. After that, I moved to a basic Wi-Fi router which performed well. We upgraded to a higher-end router once my roommate started gaming more, and we got an Asus Wi-Fi 6 model. It didn’t cover our small two-story home consistently. Value-wise, if you’re in the US, you can find a Netgear Orbi 3-pack (main and satellite models) at Costco for around $400. The Asus mesh system is priced around $350 but only supports one satellite. The satellites also have Ethernet ports which is great, plus they offer a dedicated wireless band for backhaul. Some Asus units include that feature too. What stood out was that Netgear focuses on networking solutions while Asus mainly sells routers.
