I've used Norton on my laptop after a single renewal, and the motherboard came pre-installed with it. Some people say it's not ideal and recommend other solutions. There are also free alternatives available. Would you like some recommendations?

I combine Avast with Malware Bytes for protection. I also regularly use ZoneAlarm Firewall.

Wow, I haven’t heard from Panda in ages—really! But honestly, at this stage I’d recommend using Avast instead. You probably don’t need it anymore.

Malwarebytes Premium stands out as one of the quickest scanners, avoids unnecessary background noise, offers robust file and web protection, and comes from a well-known database. If you're investing in security, this is the approach I'd take (I use it even though I don’t require full coverage). Avira does a solid job for free, while Avast/AVG are decent but have faded after version three.

AVG also has some quirky features on its own.

Many rely on a single major income stream from sponsors. Previously, using Avira caused pop-up ads each time it refreshed its database. Although it provides solid protection at no cost, it seems you're accepting that for free access.

Use Avast Free for instant defense and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware for checks. I also rely on MalwareBytes Anti-Exploit for live protection.

Bitdefender offers a free version with MBAM. Skip Avast—it's frustrating and significantly hampers performance during scans or updates.
