Upgrade your HP desktop by swapping the old hard drive for an SSD. To reinstall Windows 8, you’ll need a fresh copy of the OS. You can obtain a clean installation from Microsoft’s official website or trusted third-party sources that provide verified Windows 8 images.

You may use the recovery disks included with your computer. Alternatively, you can build your own image file. For guidance, see the tutorial at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windo...resh-media

The installation package didn't include recovery tools. The link you received indicates the setup is rejecting my key (I got it from Jellybean). This kind of issue often leads people to pirate software, not because they want to, but because they feel forced.

No, using a valid license key does not make it piracy.

They don't see Windows users as pirates. We need a fresh copy of Windows to reinstall it. I found a burned version of Win 8 RTM, installed it, activated it using the key that came with the PC via Jellybean. The ISO was downloaded from a torrent site. Thanks Microsoft!
