Where is the HDMI signal in my initial PC construction?
Hello, I just assembled my first PC.
I managed to power it up (fans, lights). But that’s roughly all done.
My monitor shows « No HDMI signal » and whenever I connect it to the motherboard (with or without the graphics card) or to the graphics card itself when installed.
I had to update the BIOS, probably using a USB device.
Here are the details (more can be provided if needed):
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
MB: ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus
PSU: AeroCool Lux550
The monitor and cable are functioning properly.
even though your mainboard supports HDMI output, your CPU lacks an integrated GPU, meaning the HDMI connection won’t display any images with your current processor.
the only option to view a picture is through the GPU’s video outputs.
your mainboard should display four debug LEDs indicating POST status; if one or more LEDs remain lit without movement, it can help pinpoint the problem.
You're not seeing an image either when using your graphics card and display cable. The mainboard video isn't functioning, but only Ryzen processors with the 'G' graphics suffix support the IGPU. What graphics card are you using?
