Where is my m.2?
I just completed my latest setup yesterday. At first, the M.2 was always detected. Today I powered on the PC and the M.2 wasn’t showing up, but after resetting the BIOS it appears again. Why is that? The M.2 is a WD Blue SN550 1TB, thank you.
With a Gigabyte board that has two BIOS options, after several restarts or power issues, the system might automatically switch to a backup BIOS that has different configurations. The SN550 uses NVMe, possibly because the drive took time to start once and wasn't recognized in the BIOS list. It could also be that with dual BIOS, the other version didn't automatically detect storage or was connected only via SATA. Alternatively, it might be a BIOS glitch that could be fixed with an update.
It seems you discovered the trigger for this. Consider reverting to an older BIOS and observe if the issue persists.
