I recently purchased a bespoke computer from Skytech’s online store, selecting expedited three-day shipping, yet it appears delivery will take approximately one month. I contacted them and received a response citing increased technological demand and seasonal movement as the reason for the delay – a standard, frequently used justification by numerous businesses, excluding the movement explanation. I am somewhat frustrated, but I acknowledge that quality products often require time to arrive. I also purchased two CyberPower PCs from Best Buy within the same week, and both experienced hard drive failures within twenty-four hours. I’m increasingly concerned about obtaining a functional machine from a trustworthy vendor. The process has been unexpectedly challenging. I discovered Skytech through an online search and, after reviewing customer feedback, decided to try them out.

Having paid for the order and anticipating a significant wait period, I sought information regarding their legitimacy and reliability. My investigation yielded no results – there were no news reports confirming their operations, no Wikipedia entry existed, and their address raised concerns. This firm is distributing computers nationwide without scrutiny of their business practices or reputation. Based on customer accounts concerning Skytech’s support, it seems a single individual uses a cell phone for communication. Consequently, I'm seeking information about this company: are they a small operation run by just a few people from a workshop, or do they operate out of a substantial facility with a manufacturing plant? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

I was unfamiliar with them, so I also did a search online. They’re available for purchase on their own site along with Walmart, Amazon, and Newegg. I noticed several videos showing product unboxings.

I came across a few “reviews,” but most of that information was simply data gathered from existing customer feedback – it wasn't particularly useful.

It’s important to note that, based on my previous experiences—even when working with companies like Dell—there is frequently hidden wording indicating a build time of "X," yet the shipping process after completion will add extra time and cost. Furthermore, if you choose popular components, you might experience delays due to restocking issues.

If this type of custom build is important to you, allow for some additional time. Ideally, they should be keeping you informed or adhering to the timeline outlined in the small print. Don’t let it drag on too long, as you could lose your purchase protection through your credit card/bank/service provider.

Pardon me for pointing out the apparent fact, but your efforts to investigate this firm’s standing seem rather late given that you’ve already acquired equipment from them. Regarding their location, they operate out of Southern California (Support > About Us).

Having settled the payment, I’m now awaiting a delivery that hasn't arrived; is it possible to void the order or challenge the fee given the lack of receipt?

As previously indicated in my online discussion, I examined customer feedback regarding their offerings. These products are distributed through Best Buy and Walmart, which initially led me to believe they possessed a strong reputation—however, this proved inaccurate. Further investigation into the organization itself revealed a significant lack of readily available information. Consequently, I am seeking insights from individuals possessing expertise concerning this company. Do you have any substantive details or simply observations about what is plainly evident?

Thanks a lot, Punkncat! I discovered the identical issue. I understand that the shipment represents essentially what I’m paying for. You are correct, and it seems appropriate to consider replenishing stock. Frankly, I'd prefer to receive a functioning computer rather than unreliable equipment like CyberpowerPC. Currently, I’m simply gathering data for prospective buyers before their own purchases. It’s unfortunately past my point; I’ve already finalized my order and must now observe the results. I dislike the lack of available information, so I'm attempting to provide it.

I don’t possess any private information about them, therefore I will refrain from interfering, as you appropriately suggested.

Certainly, I’m willing to assist, and I’m not opposed to a delay. My primary goal is to have a functional computer; however, I'm concerned by the lack of available details regarding this firm. I aim to provide that information for potential buyers, particularly those interested in purchasing their bespoke systems directly from the source.

I’ve had a profoundly negative experience with this company. I purchased a personal computer from them in August of 2019, including a Ryzen 7 3800X processor and some Corsair RAM. I discovered that only one RAM slot was functional. I contacted them, proposing either they send me a new motherboard or I would ship my PC for repair. As a single father working two jobs, I opted to send it in. After two weeks, I inquired about the status of my computer; I received a response indicating they’d prioritize its handling. A further week passed, and when I requested an update, I was informed they were out of replacement motherboards and would instead provide me with a temporary PC for use while they restock. Following a week's wait, I emailed them again to inquire about the situation. It turned out this supposedly “new” loaned computer was intended for me to retain permanently. They were unaware that I had upgraded my components and failed to return my original hard drives containing my data. I am awaiting their response today. I’ve submitted all invoices detailing the parts I installed, and Skytech's CEO, Jimmy, is currently considering the matter.

SkyTech Gaming is in fact a division of Brainstorm Corporation:

Brainstorm Corporation
SKYTECH GAMING
1620 Proforma Avenue
Ontario, CA, 91761-7605 United States
(888) 370-8882
www.brainstormco.com
Business Structure: Independent Corporation
https://www.dnb.com/business-direct...or...7fef0.html

This address corresponds to the information presented on SkyTech’s “About Us” page. I purchased a computer from Newegg that was manufactured by SkyTech; it arrived on May 1st, and initially, I appreciated their timely delivery (particularly since shipping to Hawaii is often difficult or delayed). However, my satisfaction quickly diminished when I discovered the system lacked an SSD. They sent me a defective, non-functional machine. Newegg’s customer service offered no assistance, only directing me to SkyTech. SkyTech assured me they would dispatch a replacement SSD with Windows pre-installed and provided a tracking number. Despite receiving this number at the end of the day, it indicated “Pre-Shipment: USPS awaiting item,” on May 6th. As of May 15th, the status remains unchanged. They subsequently informed me that the SSD had been “misplaced by USPS” and they were uncertain how this occurred. I demanded proof of shipment by the close of business today, but received no response. Now, I’ve advised Newegg to refund my payment (as opposed to SkyTech, which frequently fails to honor its commitments).
