When you think about a drive, Windows 8.1 remains enabled.
When you think about a drive, Windows 8.1 remains enabled.
It might be a fun question. If you install Windows on a drive, register it, and create an image, do you really get endless activation rights through that copy? I meant no, probably not—activation is tied to the original license. That should be clear, just in case!
Transfer the file to a different drive and the copy won't start automatically. You'll have to contact Microsoft for activation. This situation occurred when I moved the image from my old HDD to a new SSD. It seems storage devices with activation limits apply to changes. If used on the same drive, it should remain active.
