It might be a fun question. If you install Windows on a drive, register it, and create an image, do you really get endless activation rights through that copy? I meant no, probably not—activation is tied to the original license. That should be clear, just in case!

When generating a disc image, I expect it to remain enabled. Otherwise, you’d only have to reactivate the CD-Key.

As X1XNobleX1 mentioned, that's correct. You can also set it up by using the disk directly. I've installed mine on three machines and everything worked smoothly online.

Transfer the file to a different drive and the copy won't start automatically. You'll have to contact Microsoft for activation. This situation occurred when I moved the image from my old HDD to a new SSD. It seems storage devices with activation limits apply to changes. If used on the same drive, it should remain active.
