I've optimized my 8700k OC'd to 5ghz using 1.27vcore with a Noctua NH-D15S. I'm using Prime 95 (small fft) and have 85c average with 90c max on one core. Cinebench doesn't exceed 73c. I'm unsure how long I should run Prime for without pushing temperatures too high, but I want stability.

It remains stable without issues or crashes during regular use. I think you don't need to push it to the limit with Prime; if it fails in everyday situations, it's a sign to lower the clock speeds. If you can play around or edit smoothly without problems (and good temperatures), it's acceptable.

For CPU OCs, I execute each Prime test (both small and large) for durations of 2 to 4 hours.
