I just assembled a PC it worked okay at first but booting now takes a long time because of the system post. Now whenever I restart, only the BIOS appears and storage shows m2_1 missing. If I click X in the top right it restarts but m2 is still gone. But when I power off by pressing the off button and turn it back on after 10 seconds, it boots fine. I've tried updating the BIOS but haven't succeeded.

The only possibilities seem to be a damaged M2 chip or an incorrect installation. You might attempt booting from another hard drive to see if the issue persists. If successful, the problem likely lies with the M2 connector or the M2 component itself. Otherwise, consider resetting the motherboard or contacting support for assistance.

I don't have enough context to explain why this happens. Could you provide more details about the situation?

It occurred during a restart or unexpected reset while playing a small game. The M.2 SSD reached a temperature of 50°C and above. I had to let it cool before the BIOS recognized it again. I now have a better case and the SSD temperatures are around 40°C, which should last about six months. Someone shared a similar issue here, but even tech support couldn't find a solution. mine operates normally without any basic signs of SSD failure. I believe the issue isn't related to temperature. After turning it on for a short time and restarting, it boots into BIOS with the message m2_1 not found. I manually powered it off and back on after 10 seconds, and it started working properly. This only occurs during reboots, not when I manually switch it on or off. I haven't tried another SSD yet since I don't have another one or someone to borrow. Bringing this machine to the shop is inconvenient due to distance, but I'll let you know if I discover anything. Thanks if you can help explain why this happens.
