Hi
I'm in the UK...but I usually don't take custom from here (it would affect my advice).
Personally, I wouldn't attempt anything else until you've reversed it...
All the best, Brett
Thanks for your help. I did some research and discovered that my laptop didn't include a Recovery CD since all factory settings are saved in a hidden partition, which can be accessed by pressing 0 during startup. I found this information here: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/4811-toshiba-l...y-settings
Do you know anything about this? Should I try it? For now, I'll start backing up my files just in case.

There could be limitations in the processor and RAM, which should be considered more closely when choosing the games you want to play. Each game behaves differently, but using Daemon Tools Game Booster might be beneficial. This tool is designed to work with all games, improve their performance, and enhance RAM and VGA settings on your laptop for a smoother gaming experience.

I brought everything back to the factory settings, using the original Windows 7 Home Premium that came with my laptop, but it didn’t solve the issue!
Any other suggestions you could try?

Your issue is definitely unusual! I've never seen a device work better when connected to a power source than when it's unplugged—it's usually the opposite. The only solution I could think of was to bring it back to the place where it was obtained for repair.

Verify the heat levels after connecting it. There could be an issue with the extra power causing overheating, though this is just a guess.

Sunius :
Make sure to monitor the temperatures after connecting it. There could be overheating due to extra power usage (just a guess, something might be faulty).
I looked into the temperatures: when plugged in and unplugged, it stays normal between 43-48°, but during intense games it rises up to 60°.
