When closing a Game PC appears delayed?
I’m not sure what’s going on. I was playing Subnautica or another game and had an AMD graphics card. When I close the game, my monitor lags like it’s running at 144Hz, but when I move windows such as my browser or Steam, it feels delayed. Pressing Ctrl+Shift+Win+B fixes the problem, but I don’t want to do this often. Recently, I ran a full uninstall using the AMD cleanup tool and reinstalled the latest GPU driver. I also tried DDU today and checked if that helped, but unfortunately it didn’t.
Why the delay bothers us?
How long does this lag last?
When you end the game or shut down the host machine, I anticipate a brief pause while the system gets ready for the next gaming session or restart.
Attempting to reduce that time or bypass the shutdown steps might result in data loss and further complications.
Storage device(s): type, brand, size, current usage? If they’re nearly full, the system could struggle to locate and preserve any necessary information until you resume playback.
Monitor: some models require specific drivers. A driver update may be necessary if your monitor supports it.
