Hey, I need a fresh router. My Nighthawk Archer 20 stopped working after three months. I'm looking for something with solid wireless performance—no need for WiFi 6 unless it's way too expensive. I mostly play games but also stream a lot, so Ethernet is fine, but others prefer WiFi. I'm hoping to find a few good options under $120. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Are you asking about the necessary equipment? It depends on whether you're using a router alone or a modem/router together. Modems are internet-specific, so knowing your connection type is important.

It relies on the size of the region you wish the router to span and your internet's maximum download/upload speeds.

I don’t require a router-modem package, though I’d prefer to swap out my current modem. If a solid router that includes a modem exists, I can use Spectrum internet instead.

Spectrum tends to provide Puma 6 modems, which are often problematic. You should avoid using them together; a regular cable modem plus a separate router works better. Make sure your setup uses a standard cable modem first—though I believe Spectrum still sends out Gateways as well. Also, check your current speed subscription.
