Hello, Your Gigabyte Aorus B450 Elite Mobo has an M.2 2x slot connected via the M.2 2x port, and you plan to use the Samsung EVO 970 in that slot. You're wondering how your SATA connections will look after installing the EVO, especially since you have ASATA and SATA 2-3 already on the board. After setup, what SATA ports remain available for additional drives?

According to the manual, only SATA 0 and 1 will be supported. For alternatives, consider using an LSI 9211-9i or a Dell H310 RAID card, flash it into IT mode, and it can provide additional SATA ports.

The second M.2 slot supports PCIE gen 3 x2 configuration and won't accept M.2 SATA drives. This means the corresponding SATA connections will be turned off or enabled. When you install two M.2 drives, only one SATA port remains available for additional devices like 2.5" SSDs, HDDs, or optical drives.
