Hardware status before OC at idle has been documented. The system runs Windows 10 Pro 64-bit with an Intel Core i5 4690K at 3.50GHz and Haswell 22nm. RAM includes 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 at 666MHz. The motherboard is ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Z97-A-USB31 (SOCKET 1150) operating at 28 °C. Graphics features a Dell S2716DG at 2560x1440@144Hz and a 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti (MSI) at 34 °C. Storage consists of a 232GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB (SSD) at 31 °C, along with a 14GB Kingston DataTraveler 2.0 USB device. Optical drives include an HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSC0. Audio is powered by NVIDIA High Definition Audio. BIOS attempts showed issues: after reboot and about five minutes, the WHEA uncorrectable error appeared. Temperatures remained stable throughout testing. Possible causes under consideration are the ASUS Optimal toggle, EZ Tuning Wizard, and a potential hal.dll problem. Further advice appreciated.

That indicates you're pushing the processor beyond its limits. hal.dll pertains to CPU-related issues.
