I've found musicbee very useful with its many features and settings. It's simpler to start using compared to platforms like foobar2000. The included skin is also quite appealing. For video playback I use VLC, but I might move to MPC-HC because VLC has been unstable on Windows 8.1.

It was nice to notice the pot player made it onto the list. Edit: I use aimp3 player for audio.

I rely on PotPlayer for watching videos; without it, it wouldn’t have ranked high on the list—it feels very unconventional. I also have a solid UI modification that I really enjoy. It gives PP a modern, urban vibe reminiscent of Metro design (the Windows 8 style).

[Mod Link](https://example.com/mod-name). It’s a solid choice even if it’s less popular.

iTunes handles music, while VLC manages videos.

Windows Media Player works well for most tasks, VLC handles MP4 files and similar formats, but I rarely use FLAC.
