Do you prefer a particular media player? Do you believe one stands out in quality? If you know an independent option, I’m sorry I missed it—I used PotPlayer for a while, even though I disliked its music sorting. Now I rely on iTunes because I received a gift card and purchased some tracks.

You rely on the built-in Windows settings unless it's a file, then switch to VLC.

For audio, use foobar2000. For videos, VLC with CCCP works well.

It varies based on whether you're viewing content locally or streaming from your server. For local playback, I use Media Player Classic; for streaming, I rely on Plex.
