I’d purchase a 2933 or higher memory and test its performance. If it meets the speed requirements, great—if not, simply use a slower RAM option. Additionally, I’d aim for the smallest CAS latency to achieve optimal results.

The stated RAM rate refers to the highest performance it can achieve, not a requirement for consistent operation.

Sure, I understand. The prices are higher than expected and options are limited. I’m also trying to stay within my budget after reserving 12 days in Bangkok.

The Corsair offers the best CAS latency, making it my top option. These days things are quite complex, but I still recall purchasing a Pentium 4 with 512MB RAM and using OS/2 Warp 4.

but keep in mind that CAS Latency and Frequency are connected, meaning higher MHz RAM still offers speed benefits. It's a balance. I'd consider a 3200 MHz RAM chip (possibly unofficial) paired with a CAS Latency of CL16 or even CL14.

ECC RAM isn't functioning properly. Unbuffered ECC might be an option technically, but it's best avoided unless you're not handling servers or heavy tasks. P.S.: I've never had issues with Corsair RAM before.

I’ll add it to my wish list and wish for a lower price! If it fails, I’ll return it for the 2666. Cheers. It’s almost time for a drink...

No need to return anything; in the worst scenario, you might not be running it at full capacity.
