I’m using version 8. It hasn’t shown many issues, and the drive mounting works well. The virtualisation suits my server, which is based on Server 2012 R2 and runs on 8.1—something familiar to the team. I tested 8.1 on my PC and noticed strange noises from the WC pump after it restarted post-installation. After removing it, reinstalling 8 resolved the problem. Even before the OS loaded, there were odd sounds. So I wouldn’t recommend 8.1 for my main machine. The search results were faulty the last time I tried it; other issues popped up unexpectedly.

You can achieve that on Windows 7 too... I'm confused. Why upgrade when you already have a setup that works well? The custom theme, start menu, and task bar are all set just the way you like them. I don’t see any real gain from switching to something identical. The overheating and slowdowns at work are both annoying, and reconfiguring it to match your preferences would be a hassle. If there were any advantages, I’d upgrade instantly—8/10—but it doesn’t seem worth it right now. Some people are hyping it up, but their claims don’t match the experience I’m having, and they’re focusing on others’ claims instead of my own needs.

Absolutely, you weren't compelled to; others simply opted for a simpler approach when navigating through lists and folders.

You're still under pressure, but it's pushed harder than expected.

I’d probably switch back to Windows 8 if I recalled my key, otherwise I’d stay stuck on that slow version.
