Hello! Your new PC has been upgraded with a better GPU and CPU, but you're not seeing the performance you expected. You're using a GTX 750ti, an AMD Athlon X4 845 at 3.49 GHz, 8GB DDR3, an MSI Grenade A68H motherboard, and a 42W power supply. In games like Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege, and Overwatch, your frame rates are low—Fortnite around 30-40 FPS at 1080p, SSG at 100% render scale with 30-35 FPS otherwise, and Overwatch with a low preset at 90% render scale.

It seems your motherboard might be quite budget-friendly, which could be affecting performance. Consider checking the GPU driver, ensuring proper cooling, and verifying that your games are set to optimal settings.

Did you keep an eye on your processor activity during gameplay? It’s possible they’re consistently running at full capacity.

The CPU is limited by the GPU, but the graphics card reports 100% CPU usage during gameplay while the GPU is only at 40-50% load.

In another direction, your GPU is limited by the CPU. You might attempt to increase the workload on the GPU by adjusting settings or render scale, provided there is enough VRAM. If that doesn’t help, the only real solution would be an upgrade.

Yeah :/, I attempted adjusting some settings to mid-high, but it actually reduced the FPS. I thought about upgrading, though I’m unsure which platform to switch to since I’m on a limited budget.

Ryzen 3 and APU upgrades are coming soon. The Athlon X4 is quite outdated now, making even a modest upgrade like Devils Canyon i5 a big jump—though GPU performance might still lag. When the 750Ti came out, the i5-4460 was ideal for its time, built on Haswell. Still, you should opt for Ryzen now. The latest models support older graphics cards, allowing savings on high-end motherboards. RAM will be your biggest cost factor, but 8GB is usually sufficient for most titles.
