I'm discussing what I believe about MOBAs and why you seem to dislike them. It's not about insults, just a disagreement on the game's competitiveness. I don't play MOBAs myself, but I share your concerns. It feels unfair when assumptions are made without understanding the perspective.
Someone came first, but I believe Toxikk could really revive arena shooters in the competitive world.
It seems like another MOBA or similar genre is on the rise. Their appeal comes from the challenge involved and the strong skill level needed, which supports competitive play and evolving meta strategies. Any title can become an esport if it meets two main points: a solid skill ceiling and a sizable player community. With both in place, top players naturally step up, creating roles for coaches, managers, organizers, and casters. The player base then becomes valuable for sponsors, while developers may invest in enhancing the game’s esports presence, similar to what Valve does. Looking at current titles, Natural Selection 2 stands out as a promising candidate. Many are unfamiliar with it, yet it blends RTS and FPS elements seamlessly. Smaller games like Smite and BF4 already have established esports scenes with major tournaments and consistent developer support, so they’re not likely the next big esports contenders.
It's strange to think Arma is an eSport, but it definitely has competitive elements.
