Most folks would hit 1.4v if they wanted constant overclocking. I mean most, since some stick at 1.35v or lower and others push up to 1.45v. Try 1.4v and check how fast you get—you might find it isn’t worth it unless you see a big boost like 0.1Ghz.

Yeah mine (also 2700) works well at 3.9 ghz with 1.35v. Pushing to 4 ghz brought it down to 1.4v, and I didn’t notice much difference for the extra 100mhz. I use this every day—since building my setup in August—and there have been no problems.

You can track its performance automatically during stress tests before fully pushing it. A 1.45V setting is recommended for short-term auto boost use. My rig has a 2700X and I stopped trying to overclock, choosing instead to stick with auto modes. I managed only a stable +325Mhz boost across all cores, and it was already increasing by 200-300MHz automatically, making extra effort unnecessary except for better benchmark results. From what I've seen online and in discussions, very few systems maintain a stable overclock at full speed.
