I own a 3900x from May 2020. I'm unsure if upgrading to the 5000 series would be beneficial. My plans include streaming, gaming, video rendering/editing, photo work, and future video production. I've never adjusted the BIOS or applied any static voltage. Only enabled PBO, but received warning messages. My board (Asus TUF x570) shows two warnings despite both being enabled. It runs at 3200MHz DOCP and 1600MHz FCLK. I'm comfortable overclocking CPUs by adjusting the clock speed and stress-testing with tools like Aida64 or OCCT, increasing voltage in small steps until stability is achieved. If temperatures are acceptable, I save those settings. However, I've heard concerns about voltage stability with Ryzen processors, while Intel users often experiment with higher voltages. Should I opt for an overclock instead? As soon as the RTX 3080 FTW3 becomes available in my queue, I'll consider swapping my 3070 XC3 ultra for it and see if that impacts my decision.

I upgraded my 3900x ccx to 4500mhz since the start, and paired it with a 6800xt. It slows down when running older titles or those using only one or two cores. The rest just don’t utilize the CPU effectively. I’m holding on while DDR5 becomes available—new CPUs, RAM, and boards will arrive, so investing in that makes sense right now.
