I'm trying to set up the HP EliteDesk 705 G5 Mini PC as an HTPC. From the reviews, it seems the Wi-Fi card can sometimes be missing. I need to check if it works before deciding which card to purchase. Amazon listings suggest prices between $20 and $30 USD, but I want to compare options and avoid certain models. I haven’t found many YouTube videos on this issue from major creators, so I’m hoping someone like Linus might help with a detailed review or experiment.

Be aware that these boxes require both antennas and a Wi-Fi card to function with Wi-Fi. Look for HP EliteDesk 705 G5 Wi-Fi antennas on eBay to obtain them. For the Wi-Fi card, Intel is typically reliable, with the be200 being the top choice; the ax200 is a solid alternative if you don’t have Wi-Fi 7 enabled.

If you don’t have the ideal WiFi antenna for that case, a pigtail connecting it to a standard SMA should also function. After that, you’re free to choose any antenna you like—just make sure it matches the intended frequency range.
