What's the best CPU to match with a 5070 Ti GPU for gaming?
Hi all, I'm setting up a new PC and considering an RTX 5070 Ti for my graphics card. I'm trying to choose a CPU that won't create bottlenecks but isn't too expensive. I've heard some recommendations for AMD CPUs, but I'm worried about potential conflicts when using an NVIDIA GPU with an AMD CPU. Is this concern still valid or has it changed?
I own a Ryzen 7700 non x that works well with a 9070xt, which is nearly as fast as a 5070ti, so I recommend a Ryzen 7700, 7700x or higher.
LOL, yes, them. I updated my first comment to adjust the 2 or 3.
I upgraded to the 7800x3d with upgrading to 5070 Ti. I'm very happy with the performance and got this passmark result:

There are several options available for gaming right now, with the 9800X3D leading the pack alongside the 7800X3D. If you're near a Micro Center, they offer CPUs at lower prices but only for in-store purchases. The 9800X3D costs $399 and the 7800X3D is $329 at the moment. The difference in frame rate is worth the extra cost?
In about a year, the new 2nm Zen6 chips will be available, compatible with AM5 motherboards and requiring a BIOS update. I'm also constructing a new gaming PC for my child, who is getting ready for his first PC. The current setup uses a 5800X3D, which is still a solid gaming CPU today. I plan to temporarily use a $200 7600X3D in the new build, matching its performance to that of the 5800X3D.
After the Zen6 launch and reviews, we'll decide the best path forward. We might sell or repurpose the 7600X3D and acquire a discounted 9800X3D, or hopefully, the Zen6 will become the new gaming standard for years to come.
