I’ve recently got a new graphics card, the 6600xt, and it’s been running smoothly for gaming. But tonight I experienced a sudden black screen with audio still playing. After rebooting from that point, I saw an unusual message. This hasn’t happened before since my BIOS is from Gigabyte. It feels strange. I haven’t changed any components, so something might be wrong—maybe a corruption issue? Could be related to FTPM/PSP or something else?

Did you activate BitLocker? I’m just trying to understand what might have occurred. Your hardware appears capable, which is helpful to know… Sadly, it doesn’t seem like a straightforward solution unless a basic reset of the CMOS works.

Yes, replacing the CMOS battery can disrupt your system settings unless you properly reset it.

BitLocker is a security feature that encrypts your entire hard drive or specific partitions. You can check if it's active by looking for the BitLocker logo in the system tray or by using built-in tools like Disk Encryption. It's recommended to enable it for added protection, especially on sensitive data.

Not the issue here; fatigue actually made me forget to label my RAM properly. Two 8-inch sticks and two 16-inch sticks, both 3200 Corsair Vengeance RGB. Yes, they’re positioned correctly—slots 1 and 3 hold the 2x8 slots, while slots 2 and 4 accommodate the 2x16 slots.

Yep. However, Windows 11 often causes issues on its own. No help required. Updated on April 11, 2022 by An0maly_76 Revised
