The CD drive remains operational yet fails to open, and the PC model is a P6240F from early 2010, originally built by HP for my father prior to his passing. I reduced the file size.

Do you have any younger brothers or sisters? My idea is that either you or a kid in the past might have put cereal in the hard drive, but we wouldn’t be certain unless you opened it up.

You require an ejectrode. (Straightened paperclip will let you manually unlock the tray, allowing you to open it and inspect the contents)

It was my 14-year-old self who found it hard to grasp the idea of exploding CDs. That file is still saved on my old desktop in the basement.
